How we live and cope with grief is different from each other.
Here are some of the things that are helping me with my grief journey. I hope you can find your own path as well.
movement with yoga
Grief can be paralyzing to our body and mind.
Practicing yoga can help with your journey to healing with gentle postures, breathing, meditation and mindfulness.
journaling
Journaling can act as your own voice channeling your inner thoughts and emotions. Your hand and heart works side by side to express all your feelings that no one could. Writing your thoughts and feelings can help process some of our deepest pain and sorrow. Somehow documenting those may allow us to navigate our grief journey.
embrace nature
In the presence of nature and the outdoors can be a healing sanctuary for grievers. Our shattered hearts and souls find the soothing sounds of the birds, rustling of the leaves and splashing of the waves.
watching sunsets
Glorious sunsets can be therapeutic balm for grief and loss. It reminds us that in the midst of darkness, there is renewal and recovery. Witnessing the vibrant colours that paint the sky can inspire a connection with our loved ones.
art of grieving
Grief can bring the artist in all of us. Even with no experience in painting and drawing, somehow our emotions can be expressed through art. The colours and different types of brush strokes can create a wide arrange of emotions from joy, sadness, despair and happiness
connect with a group
Grief can be a lonely journey. It helps to find like minded groups and communities who can understand and can witness our grief. I found solace and support by joining online and bereavement groups and organizations that offer support.
Your grief can be witnessed, validated and acknowledged.
Despite the encroaching sadness of grief, we can find some hope and healing together. I am here to be your grief companion.
